Why you need to have a Vampire Facial
Kim Kardashian created a lot of hype about "Vampire Facials," when she posted a slightly gruesome picture mid-treatment on her social media. There has been so much buzz about this treatment since then and all the celebrities seem to be swearing by it. So what exactly is it?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Media are referring to it as "The Vampire Facial," or "Vampire Facelift." It is a non-surgical procedure using your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, regenerate skin cells and restructure the skin tissue.
The treatment process
A small amount of blood is drawn from the arm by a Registered Nurse. The blood is drawn into a sterile vial which is then put into a centrifuge that separates the platelet and plasma from the red blood cells. The richest part is then re-injected back into the skin. The platelets can be further infused with Skin Needling. This process immediately activates growth factors and stem cells and triggers the rejuvenation response.
The cost
The cost of this treatment will depend on the size of the area to be treated. Each vial is from $450. 1-3 Vials is usually required. For example, only 1 Vial may be needed to treat the eye area, where 3 Vials may be required to treat the entire face.
Downtime
We recommend booking a PRP treatment after you have finished work for the day. Although you could return back to work immediately after the treatment, you may want to rest and avoid any exercise. Bruising can be expected if the eye area is treated. This is easily disguised with mineral makeup.
