The difference between IPL and Laser.

What is the difference between IPL and Laser?

Both treatments have proven to be effective methods of permanent hair reduction since the 1990s. Similarly, both work on the same principle, using light / heat therapy to destroy the hair follicle, inhibiting future hair growth.

The main difference? Lasers work using a single focussed wavelength of light, conversely IPL operates using a flash of light containing hundreds of wavelengths. Both use similar technology to permanently retard hair-growth, reducing hair by up to 80%.

Most clients will need between 10 - 12 sessions to see permanent hair reduction, with results ultimately dependant on hair colour, thickness and density. IPL and Laser treatments are best performed in Winter, as harsh sun exposure can exacerbate sensitivity in treated areas.

Brazilian Beauty clinics choose to use IPL due to safety and successful results.
