4 STEPS TO STOP DRY SKIN IN WINTER

Australian winter is notorious for bringing out the worst in our skin.
So how do we cure those winter blues? It all comes down to hydration – however, there’s more to that than lathering on a rich moisturiser. Here are our top tips for keeping skin hydrated and glowing:

  • Upgrade your moisturiser

Your skin needs moisture to replenish the water it loses throughout the day.
Moisturisers with ingredients such as hydrating hyaluronic acid, illuminating Vitamin B3 or Zinc can restore and enhance skin health.
Even if you have oily or combination skin, it’s still important to moisturise. In fact, a lack of moisture can drive your skin to produce more oil in order to compensate for it, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.
Applying a moisturiser will maintain skin health all day, giving your skin a healthy hydrated glow.

Top Tip: mix a Vitamin C based Serum to your moisturiser!
Mixing the serum to your daily moisturiser will enhance the hydration effect and also work as a great anti-pollution barrier.
For night time, this top tip will boost your collagen and elastin production while actively repairing skin blemishes and premature aging. Vitamin C will refresh and refine your skin from the inside out. Sleep easy knowing your skin concerns are being treated!

  • Use a humidifier

Most places, including your office, are warmed with dry heat, which, as the name would imply, dries out your skin. A cool mist-style humidifier can do wonders for balancing ambient humidity levels, which in turn will help keep your skin from becoming parched.   Give your bedroom a spa-like atmosphere by using a humidifier along with an essential oil diffuser. You will wake up feeling and looking brand new!

  • Get professional skin treatments

Designed to deeply hydrate and boost skin cell renewal, Believe in Beautiful Advanced Skin Resurfacing Facial treatment targets dull, dry and dehydrated skin and is the perfect treatment for all skin types.
The treatment starts with Hydra-Microdermabrasion, an advanced facial technology that gently removes dead, dull skin cells from your skin surface while stimulating production of new cells deep within the dermal layer. This physical exfoliation is performed to reveal a beautiful new you.
A chemical exfoliant will then be performed. Professional Peels are a fast, effective and non-invasive skin treatment, for immediate cell renewal and a refreshed complexion.
We only use Professional Peels developed by The Australian Skin Institute (ASI), formulated with premium ingredients to deliver the best possible results.
Part 3 is the ASI – Australian Skin Institute Peptide Infused Dermal Face Lift Mask.
This treatment dramatically reduces the visible signs of aging on the entire face and ensures 24 hour- lasting hydration.
An instant wrinkle filling, rejuvenating and plumping effect is provided by boosting collagen, elastin and hydration.

  • Use mineral make up

Mineral makeup can be used on sensitive skin, acne-prone skin, injured skin, perioral dermatitis, and rosacea.
Mineral makeup is a perfect match for those who do not like the look or feel of wearing makeup but still want to have glowing, flawless skin. Nearly invisible and weightless, it allows your skin to breathe naturally and achieve that natural, no makeup look.
Top tip: Mineral Makeup can be applied straight after a facial treatment! It will help conceal any redness and also help to heal the skin faster.
