The Great Eyebrow Reboot – 4 Brow Must-Have Treatments For Post-Iso Brow Recovery.
I mean, THIS IS THE MOMENT! If like me, you're a ‘glass half full’ kind of girl then this pandemic has actually been a blessing when it comes to your eyebrows. Having been forced into eyebrow lockdown means that we all now have a chance to start again. Even if you have been doing a little bit of plucking; maybe a little bit of trimming… that’s ok... I got you.
Here are my 4 ‘must have’ treatments that will have your brows looking AH-MAZING again.
Step 1: Eyebrow Mapping
Did you know that there is a ‘Golden Ratio’ that will reveal the perfect eyebrow shape for your face? A mathematical rule that will balance the position, length and arch of your brows to compliment your features and, if needed, indicate how to achieve a rejuvenating lift that can make you look 10 years younger? Well, if you have never had this before then do not skip this step!
Using a special pigmented string and the Golden Ratio rules of alignment, the brow beauties at Brazilian Beauty will measure and mark out your brows to form a visible grid that will reveal exactly how and where your brows should sit.
You may think this is a bit of hooha but let me tell you this… I can guarantee, you have never seen your perfect brows without having had Eyebrow Mapping done. It’s maths meets beauty, with a little Da Vinci’s Code thrown in!
Step 2: Eyebrow Colour
So now that you have discovered the perfect shape for your brows; it’s time to colour. There are a couple of options.
For a subtle and natural look choose an Eyebrow Tint. A basic tint is best suited for blond to dark brows with no grey hairs (the henna tint is best for greys - keep reading). It helps to highlight any little fluffy or baby hairs throughout the brow and especially along the edges giving the brow a fuller look. Having a tint does not mean you need to walk out looking like Gaucho Marks or Cara Delevingne . Just a hint of colour is enough to take your brows from ordinary to fabulous and the results last around 4 weeks.
For those of you who love a bolder brow, then Brazilian Beauty’s Henna Tint is for you. This is my personal favourite because it’s best for those of us who have those dreaded greys. Grey hair is notoriously difficult to colour and a basic tint often will not do the job but the Henna Tint is more effective on greys. Even better, the Henna Tint actually creates a skin stain behind your brow hair replacing the need for you to use a brow pencil to define the shape. Your brows will look red-carpet ready 24/7 with the effects lasting up to 2 weeks on the skin and 6-8 weeks on the hair itself. There are more colour choices available with Henna Tint compared to the basic Eyebrow Tint, so whether you are blond, redhead or brunette… there is a Henna Tint suitable for you.
Step 3: Eyebrow Sculpting
Now, it’s time to lock it all in with an eyebrow wax. Not just any plain brow wax but a full on, circumnavigational wax of any hair growing outside the mapped and tinted design. It’s called an Eyebrow Sculpt.
Don’t go telling your brow beauty to “just do a little here” and “i don’t want any across the top”... don’t do that! Having your brows fully sculpted will create beautiful crisp lines and accentuate the arches as well as help to finish off all the new details (like length and angle) that were created with the mapping and the tinting.
Step 4: Eyebrow Lamination
Actually, this is an optional step. The first 3 steps are a must… really, don’t come out of iso without taking steps 1-3, for the love of beauty! But step 4 I absolutely LOVE and recommend it to anyone who has wild, curly or flat and lifeless eyebrows. Eyebrow Lamination is the latest brow service to hit the streets and although it’s not exactly new, it has been revamped and taken to a whole new level.
Your brow hairs will be smoothed, lifted and set into place, creating a brushed up look and giving your brows fullness and direction. Results last up to 8 weeks and there is not much maintenance needed except to apply a little nourishing oil each day to help keep the hairs hydrated and healthy.
